Aside from Mexclusivo’s own exhibitions, La Mata Tinta holds regular expos throughout the year for local artists. You will always find a new exhibition lining the walls of the bar’s comfortable interior, as well as monthly events from some of Mexico’s finest young designers. Local artist Efraim – whose gallery can also be found in the plaza – displays artwork created exclusively to add a dash of vibrant colour to the tables that decorate La Mata Tinta’s tranquil courtyard.

At weekends, La Mata Tinta heats up with live entertainment, ranging from traditional Mexican and Spanish music to more contemporary sounds, winding down on Sunday evening with the popular trova night (solo artists and duos who provide a relaxed ambience to finish off the weekend).

For those wishing to catch up on news from home or keep on top of urgent business, take advantage of La Vaca Loca, La Mata Tinta’s Internet café adjascent to the bar area. Alongside the broadband-connected computers, there are several X-boxes and a Playstation II to keep any restless young minds occupied while you relax with a coffee, frapuchino, or an ice-cold cerveza.
Additionally, if you treat owners Douglas and Analise nicely, they will allow you to use your own laptop from the comfort of the bar area or courtyard, courtesy of their wireless Internet connection.

The Plaza de Artesanias has plenty of other opportunities for all, whether on a business trip or a relaxing break. Next to Efraim’s art gallery is Cristina’s Boutique displaying an array of clothes, many hand made and with a traditional Mexican flavour. The plaza also contains a travel agency, DHL office and a silverware shop.
